Adam Cole def. Jungle Boy
Adam Cole’s theme song is No. 1 on the iTunes Metal 100.
Adam Cole is not a heel, no matter who he aligns himself with, these fans will not allow it.
For obvious reasons, Tony Schiavone admittedly was not rooting for Adam Cole.
MORE FOR YOU
Following a great hurricanrana by Jungle Boy, CM Punk dropped “What a maneuver” as a trolling nod to Vince McMahon.
Kenny Omega and The Elite Faces off with Bryan Danielson
When The Elite teed up Michael Nakazawa as the best promo in professional wrestling, fans started chanting “CM Punk!”
The promo exchange between Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega sparked the birht of “Kenny No Balls.
Cody Rhodes and Lee Johnson vs. Dante Martin and Matt Sydal
This match bean with chants of “Cody sucks!”
In the second consecutive match featuring a miscast wrestler, the “babyface” Cody Rhodes was booed vociferously.
It was great to see the monthly Lee Johnson sighting in AEW.
Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston and Darby Allin vs. Bear Country and Anthony Greene
CM Punk exposed Eddie Kingston’s whole gimmick by calling him out as a Red Socks fan.
Sting struggled to climb over the guardrail and instead opted to move it to the side. You can’t blame him given how hard he’s worked in his matches over the past few weeks.
Anthony Greene is a dead ringer for Peter Avalon.
Orange Cassidy and The Dark Order vs. The Hardy Family Office
Despite the outpouring of love for The Dark Order and the memory of Brodie Lee, The Dark Order continued their infighting.
Negative 1 and Amanda Huber, not Bray Wyatt, interfered to tell Dark Order to get their head in the game, leading to a feel-good reconciliation.
Dan Lambert, Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page Appear Live
Dan Lambert is one of the few AEW wrestlers who actually comes off as a heel and is received like one by these crowds.
Ethan Page did a great job shutting down those pesky “what” chants by talking right over them.
Tay Conti and Anna Jay vs. The Bunny and Penelope Ford
Both of these teams wore matching gear, almost like a women’s tag team.
Negative One made another cameo as The Dark Order picked up another win on Brodie Lee Appreciation Night.
MJF Appears Live
MJF came off like a company spokesperson in this promo.
MJF shouting out Nick Khan and Bruce Prichard in AEW, does anybody work harder to get booed in this company?
MJF referred to Darby Allin as a “School Shooter Mime on a skateboard.”
Fans tried multiple times to ruin MJF’s promo with “CM Punk” chants and he was having none of it.
Sammy Guevara def. Miro—AEW TNT Championship
This actually seems like a match Miro could lose and I prayed he didn’t.
CM Punk actually did commentary for this entire show without any angles and he was a delight.
Miro caught Sammy Guevara mid-shooting star and had a great recovery when they both almost fell. Jim Ross punctuated the moment by calling it a “Human fair catch.”
After cheering for the heel Miro early in this match, these fans really got behind Sammy Guevara toward the end.
