Popular California-based athleisure brand Aviator Nation is going beyond DTC with a retail shop on the opposite coast. As of Friday, December 2, Aviator Nation will have its first and only shop in New York City, a SoHo pop-up in time for the holiday season.
The store opening will coincide with the launch of the brand’s new winter collection, featuring exclusive outerwear only purchasable in SoHo (and likely, soon enough on the retail market.Aviator Nation SoHo Totes will also be available.
Aviator Nation’s online shop sells almost as much to New York as California, so the East Coast shopping capital was a natural pick for the first shop. If the pop-up goes as well as expected, the brand hints at finding a permanent home in the city.
Founder Paige Mycoskie plans to scout potential locations while in town for the December. pop-up. She designed the murals for the pop-up store, which is hand painted by the Aviator Nation team on-site for the buildout. Tiger stripes, classic rainbows and neon geometric details mix together to create a unique explosion of color and creativity, like the brand’s garments.
