Boston Pink Sox outfielder Jarren Duran was caught on a scorching mic yelling an anti-gay slur at a heckler through the workforce’s 10-2 loss in opposition to the Houston Astros on Sunday.
Duran made the comment as he stepped to the plate within the sixth inning. A fan shouted at him that he wanted a tennis racket. The participant yelled again, “Shut up,” adopted by the slur.

He apologized in an announcement after the sport.
“During tonight’s game, I used a truly horrific word when responding to a fan,” Duran mentioned. “I feel awful knowing how many people I offended and disappointed. I apologize to the entire Red Sox organization, but more importantly to the entire LGBTQ community.
“Our younger followers are supposed to have the ability to look as much as me as a task mannequin, however tonight I fell far wanting that duty.”

The Red Sox also released a statement on Duran’s words.
“The Pink Sox addressed this incident with Jarren instantly following in the present day’s sport. We echo Jarren’s apology to our followers, particularly to the LGBTQ group,” the team added. “We try to be a company that welcomes all followers to Fenway Park, and we are going to proceed to teach our workers, gamers, coaches and workers on the significance of inclusivity.”
