Navy troops started arriving in El Paso, Texas, and San Diego, California, on Thursday night following President Donald Trump’s determination to declare a nationwide emergency on the southern border.
The extra help of 1,500 active-duty troops consists of 1,000 U.S. Military personnel and 500 Marines from Camp Pendleton in California who will get their assignments alongside the border upon arrival.
