The artist behind these sculptures is Adam Szubski (1931–2008), a former stonemason who additionally experimented with steel and blended supplies.
His works are deeply private, portraying buddies and acquaintances—a lot of whom had been fellow residents of Zgon, Poland. The sculptures seize them in quite a lot of lifelike poses: some seated close to the home, others seemingly wandering in a close-by meadow, and plenty of standing within the backyard, as if frozen in time throughout a go to they by no means left. A very placing characteristic is a set of busts organized on a ladder, creating a novel and nearly surreal composition. Over time, their weathered expressions, coupled with the pure decay of the supplies, lend the location an eerie, timeless ambiance.
