Whenever they have something new to deliver to fans, BTS conquers the Gaon Albums chart in their home country. In fact, even when they aren’t debuting a new title, the boy band often occupies quite a bit of real estate on the weekly ranking of the bestselling full-lengths, EPs and single albums in South Korea, as they remain perhaps the most popular group in the world. The septet’s performance on the latest edition of the tally is truly incredible, and it only further highlights just how beloved they are.
BTS occupies 16 spots on this week’s Gaon Albums chart, claiming 16% of the 100-rung tally for themselves. That kind of show of dominance is nearly unheard of, and it’s the sort of thing only the seven-member vocal troupe can manage.
Amazingly, BTS fills four spaces in just the top 10 alone. The entirety of their Love Yourself series returns to the highest tier, with Love Yourself: Her, Love Yourself: Answer and Love Yourself: Tear appearing one right after another at Nos. 5, 6 and 7, respectively. Just three spaces further down, but still inside the loftiest arena on the ranking, comes Map of the Soul: Persona. All of these releases are at least two years old, and yet they are still outselling newer releases from some of the most successful acts in South Korea.
11 different BTS projects appear inside the top 40 this week, and all of their 16 charting efforts sit above No. 75. The band’s most recent release, 2021’s Butter single album, improves by 15 spaces as it’s also certified three million for selling as many copies in South Korea alone. Almost everything ever released by the septet is present on the Gaon Albums chart this frame, with very few titles missing out on the ranking this time around.
