The U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) mentioned that they arrested an individual who tried to set his automotive ablaze close to the U.S. Capitol constructing throughout President-elect Trump’s go to late Wednesday.
“Twice today our officers stopped a man who could have been a danger to the Capitol Hill community,” U.S. Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger mentioned. “This vigilance is critical during this time of heightened security.”
The company mentioned that in Trump’s go to with Republican senators and his time paying respect to President Carter, a 35-year-old man from Virginia tried to set his automotive on hearth.

Police mentioned that simply earlier than 5:30 p.m., USCP officers have been alerted to a person who had parked on First Road, NW, close to the Grant Memorial, and had lit a bag on hearth atop his automobile.
When officers ran over to the person, the bag extinguished by itself.

Out of an abundance of warning, the USCP mentioned that the automobile was declared suspicious, and the company’s Hazardous Incident Response Division cleared the automobile.
Officers decided that the automotive was not a hazard at roughly 7 p.m.
