Stephan Pudwill is the vice chairman of Techtronic Industries (TTI), a company that his father cofounded over 30 years ago. The Hong Kong-listed company focuses on manufacturing power tools and floorcare products, as it manages a portfolio of global brands like Milwaukee and Hoover.
Pudwill said TTI is determined to develop cordless lithium-ion products, with the vision to produce equipment that are quieter, safer for workers to use and have zero emissions.
“We’re developing products that are focused on environmental sustainability. What we’re doing, to a large degree, is replacing a lot of legacy technology that’s out there today. We are replacing gasoline powered with lithium cordless products,” he said.
He believes sustainability is an essential element for companies to be successful and the idea needs to be stressed at all levels of the organization.
