Brian Matusz, a former MLB pitcher who performed for the Baltimore Orioles for many of his profession, has died. He was 37.

“A staple in our clubhouse from 2009-2016, Brian was beloved throughout Birdland, and his passion for baseball and our community was unmatched. He dedicated his time to connecting with any fan he could, was a cherished teammate, and always had a smile on his face,” the workforce mentioned.

The Orioles chosen the Colorado native within the first spherical of the 2008 MLB Draft out of the College of San Diego. He made his main league debut in August 2009 in opposition to the Detroit Tigers, going 5 innings with 5 strikeouts and getting the win.
