Halston on Wednesday launched a collaboration with Australian sleepwear brand Homebodii. It’s the first partnership for Ken Downing, who was named creative director of the brand in July. The 12-piece collection is available at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom
“For me, taking over Halston and H by Halston is about his love of sensuality and glamour,” said Downing. “Glamour is a word we use when describing the brand, and sensuality in a way that feels relevant. The collection has a real glamorous element. Halston wanted women to look and feel good.”
The collection epitomizes Homebodii’s effortless sensuality and evokes Halston’s disco-era allure. Homebodii founder and designer Ingrid Bonnor often takes inspiration from the striking natural beauty of Australia’s miles-long Gold Coast and the area’s beaches, exotic flora and fauna, mountains, and rainforest. She built the brand on an ethos of effortless, wearable, pieces that compliment Australia’s idyllic lifestyle.
A division of Xcel Brands, Halston is one of the most iconic names in American fashion. “We’re thrilled to partner with a brand as renowned and glamorous as Halston,” said Bonnor. “This collection pays homage to Halston’s incredibly chic heritage while also taking inspiration from our spectacular seaside location. We had loads of fun imagining how the spectacular ‘Halstonettes’ might have worn some of the pieces from this collection.”
When Homebodii debuted its first collection of bridal robes in 2012, the brand quickly found an international fan base eager for its beautiful, yet easy-to-wear pieces. In fact, Homebodii’s Farrah robe is the number one most pinned bridal robe on Pinterest, with over 2 million pins. The Halston x Homebodii collection is available in sizes XXS – XXL and retails from $89.95 for a long bias-cut slip to $189 for a fringe-sleeve robe.

“When I was approached about the possibility of collaborating with Halston, I was immediately intrigued,” said Bonnor. “The brand has such a rich history and I knew that it would be an incredible opportunity to help create a sleepwear collection for its future. I was drawn to Halston’s commitment to quality and modernity and felt that Homebodii’s aesthetic aligned perfectly. I’m excited to work with Halston on this project because our shared vision resulted in creating a collection that’s something truly special.
“The Halston brand has always been synonymous with glamour and sophistication, so it was a natural fit for me to collaborate with them on a new sleepwear collection. Their classic aesthetic combines timeless silhouettes edged with modern details and reflects my own design sensibility,” Bonnor said. “I was drawn to the brand because of its rich history – Halston was one of the most influential fashion designers of the 20th century and I felt honored to be able to work with his legacy. The collaboration was an exciting opportunity to create something truly special, and I’m thrilled with the results.
“Homeboddi’s bridal collection celebrates all things feminine,” Bonner added. “We design every piece to showcase the beauty of the feminine form, from the delicate curves of the waist to the graceful flow of the fabric. But it’s not just about the look of the sleepwear or robe, it’s also about how it makes you feel.
“Homebodii is all about helping women find the perfect bridal robe or pre-wedding sleepwear for the big day, whether they’re looking for something sleek and modern or classic and timeless,” Bonnor said. “Because every woman is unique, Homebodii offers a range of sizes and styles to suit every bride.”
“I have a great love of this brand,” said Downing. “I’m not intimidated by stepping into the shoes of Halston. There are many things we’re discussing. We’ll announce the strategy in January. I have very big plans ahead.”
