Indiana College (IU) is instructing college students that they’re inherently “oppressors” due to their race, intercourse and faith, paperwork present.
In keeping with the varsity’s web site, the course “Understanding Diversity in a Pluralistic Society” prompts college students to look at “theories and models” so as to “enhance understanding of our diverse society.”
The course “provides content about differences and similarities in the experiences, needs, and beliefs of selected minority groups and their relation to the majority group.”
It added that the “groups include, but are not limited to, people of color, women, and gay, lesbian, and bisexual persons.”

The Free Beacon first reported that the category teacher Colleen Rose prompts college students to compose an “in-depth reflection of two parts of [their] identity: one subordinate identity and one dominant identity.”
The Beacon obtained a chart that is given to college students to outline sure teams. The chart explains that “subordinate groups” are topic to “social oppression” by the “dominant groups.” These teams embody “LGBTQ” folks, “women,” and spiritual and ethnic minorities.

“I’m being punished through an assignment for my identity as a person,” the coed advised the Beacon.
The coed went on to say, “It’s very rich that in a class where we are supposed to be talking about identity and not suppressing identity, I’m forced to suppress my own identity… I have to suppress myself because I’m presumed to be some privileged, horrible human being that didn’t grow up without food. That’s insane to me.”
The course, supplied by IU’s Faculty of Social Work, fulfills credit score necessities for the faculty’s “social and historical studies.”
