Former College of Michigan counselor Greg Harden has died. He was 75.
Harden endorsed Tom Brady, Michael Phelps, Desmond Howard and J.J. McCarthy, amongst others.
Michigan athletics spokesman Dave Ablauf stated the household had knowledgeable the athletic division that Harden had died Thursday resulting from problems from surgical procedure.

The late Bo Schembechler, a Faculty Soccer Corridor of Fame coach, employed Harden in 1986 as a workers marketing consultant and student-athlete personal-development program counselor.
Howard, who gained the Heisman Trophy with Michigan in 1991, was a part of the primary wave of Wolverines to rely Harden as a confidant, mentor and pal.
“Greg brought wisdom, joy and his calming nature to every encounter,” Howard stated. “His presence will be missed by all of us.
“Though my household and I are heartbroken, we maintain on to the teachings, steerage and recollections that can ceaselessly be Greg’s legacy. We’re blessed past measure to have had him in our lives.”
Brady, who went on to win seven Tremendous Bowls in his 22-year NFL profession after taking part in faculty soccer at Michigan, credit Harden for his success.

“He meant the world to me, and I might by no means have had the success I had with out the time, power, love and help he had given me,” Brady said.
Harden was instrumental to Michigan’s most recent quarterback, McCarthy, during their championship run.
The Minnesota Vikings rookie quarterback sent the school his thoughts in the form of a letter to Harden.
“You gave me the braveness and perception as we fought hand and hand in opposition to the demons that I’ve spent my complete life preventing,” McCarthy wrote. “You might have impressed me by your means to unconditionally love everybody and every thing.”

Harden, who was from Detroit, earned undergraduate and master’s degrees at Michigan.
He retired from his role as director of counseling for Michigan’s athletic department in 2020. He continued to work, advising student-athletes at Michigan along with the Toronto Maple Leafs as the NHL team’s peak performance coach.
He published his first book, “Keep Sane in an Insane World: Management the Controllables and Thrive,” last year.
