New Girl is getting a new recap podcast. The podcast, Welcome to Our Show, will be hosted by stars of the long-running sitcom, Zooey Deschanel, Hannah Simone and Lamorne Morris. The rewatch podcast is set to premiere on January 24.
The weekly podcast will cover episodes of the show with secrets and behind-the-scenes stories from the actors. The podcast will also feature segments like “True American” named after the drinking game from the show and special guests including cast members, guest stars, writers, and producers from New Girl.
“I am overjoyed to work again with two of my favorite people, Lamorne and Hannah, and to get to relive some of our favorite moments from the seven years we worked on New Girl,” Deschanel said in a statement.
New Girl was popular during its time on Fox from 200-2018 but has gained attention as well in the streaming space as the episodes have been available on Netflix
“The fans have been flooding my inbox and timelines with requests for behind-the-scenes intel. Well, here we go! We’re so pumped that iHeart is giving us this platform to connect with our fans. So dope. All of their questions will be answered….and we also tell weird stories,” Morris said of the podcast.

“New Girl fans have a lot of questions about everything from the actual rules of True American to ping pong etiquette with Prince,” added Simone. “Zooey, Lamorne and I have missed each other so much, and I’m so excited that we’ve created a show where we can finally answer those questions and share so many untold crazy New Girl stories that happened while we made the show!”
The podcast will be available on all major podcasting platforms and iHeart Radio. Rewatch podcasts have been increasingly popular in recent years. Both podcasts hosted by stars and those hosted by fans have cropped up. Fan-hosted podcasts like The Ringer’s Way Down in the Hole (The Wire,) Slayerfest 98 (Buffy the Vampire Slayer,) and Project Mindy (The Mindy Project) often feature behind the scenes trivia and even guest stars from the show.
The trend of recap podcasts for popular shows only seems to be getting more popular especially when hosted by the show’s stars. Star-hosted podcasts like I Am All In from Scott Patterson of Gilmore Girls, Talking Sopranos from Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa and Office Ladies, hosted by Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey have cropped up across TV genres. Welcome to Our Show seems primed to join the ranks of this popular trend.
