“I chose a prom theme because I’ve met so many adults who never got the chance to go. … I went to three proms, and I loved it. It was my first time feeling beautiful and elegant,” she explains.
To recreate that sentiment, the Women Journey actress will lean into this yr’s groovy theme along with her look — and ensure that it is picked out forward of time.
“I wouldn’t change anything about my experience, except for making sure my dress was done at least a week before my prom instead of the day of. … I’ll be bringing all the Soul Train flavor, and I am excited for everyone to see all my prom pictures and videos,” she spills.

“I think I have a few options for dates. We’ll see who is ready to be my date on the day.”
